IN THE MATTER OF a finding of injury made by the Canadian International Trade Tribunal on October 20, 1995, in Inquiry No. NQ-95-001 respecting:

CAPS, LIDS AND JARS SUITABLE FOR HOME CANNING, WHETHER IMPORTED SEPARATELY OR PACKAGED TOGETHER, ORIGINATING IN OR EXPORTED FROM THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

N O T I C E

On December 17, 1999, the Canadian International Trade Tribunal (the Tribunal) issued Notice of Expiry No. LE-99-008 relating to the aforementioned finding. Persons or governments requesting or opposing the initiation of a review of this finding were requested to file written submissions containing relevant information, opinions and arguments with the Secretary of the Tribunal not later than January 14, 2000.

No request has been received by the Tribunal in support of a review and continuation of the said finding. Consequently, no review will be initiated.

Pursuant to subsection 76(5) of the Special Import Measures Act, where the Tribunal has not initiated a review with respect to a finding before the expiration of five years after the day on which the finding was made, the finding shall be deemed to be rescinded as of the expiration of the five years.

Please be advised that this finding will therefore be deemed to be rescinded on October 19, 2000.
